The Bling Ring — consisting of Rachel Lee, Nick Prugo, Alexis Neiers, Courtney Ames and Diana Tamayo — became infamous for stealing roughly $3 million in cash and belongings from Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Audrina Patridge and many more from 2008 to 2009. The teens and 20-somethings became household names themselves following their 2010 arrests, with their infamous antics becoming the focus of two movies (one directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Emma Watson) and a book by New York Times bestselling author Nancy Jo Sales.

Rachel Lee

Lee, the mastermind behind the robberies, served 16 months in prison for her role in the Hollywood heists. Despite nearly a decade passing since the robberies, she’s acknowledged her role in invading the homes of celebrities she once admired. “As a teen, I was chasing love in all the wrong places and by the time I realized it was too late and I was in prison. I truly feel prison was a blessing in disguise — the best thing that ever happened to me. It made me realize you can only trust yourself at the end of the day,” she exclusively told Us Weekly. “If I could do it all over again I would’ve made the right choices instead of the wrong ones. I would’ve changed a lot.”

Despite turning down the opportunity to consult on Coppola’s movie adaption, she couldn’t help but introduce herself when she ran into Watson at a bar during the Super Bowl in 2017: “I walked up to her and I said, ‘Hi, my name is Rachel. I just wanted to introduce myself because you were in a movie based upon my life. I actually had the chance to work on the movie but I didn’t feel comfortable at the time.’ And she put out her hand and said, ‘It’s nice to meet you.’”

In October 2018, Lee graduated from cosmetology school for hairstyling. She is also currently working on a screenplay for a TV drama.

Alexis Neiers

Neiers’ arrest for her role in the invasions was captured by cameras in 2010 while she was filming her ill-fated E! reality show, Pretty Wild. She was in prison for more than a month at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California — while Lohan was serving her own time. “I heard Lindsay crying,” she told Us, “but I wasn’t near her.”

Neiers — who will celebrate eight years of sobriety in December 2018 — currently works at Alo Recovery Center in Malibu, where she helps recovering addicts who are struggling: “I take calls at midnight from people who need help.” Neiers also owns her mistakes, telling Us, “I was a drug addict who messed up her life. And thankfully, decided to turn it all around.”

Nicholas Prugo

While most of the Bling Ring members chose to retreat from the spotlight, Prugo — who served a year in prison — did the opposite by sharing his side of the story to Good Morning America in February 2010. The Hollywood burglaries weren’t Prugo’s only brush with the law: In 2015, he was charged with stalking and solicitation to commit sexual assault. Prugo, who previously worked in the skincare industry, has kept to himself since his brushes with the law, and a source tells Us, “Nick is now in a committed relationship.”
