9 Shocking Allegations Made in Southern Charm’s Kathryn and Thomas’ Custody Battle

November 8, 2018

Kekenapep –

Thomas Ravenel may no longer be a part of Southern Charm, but the drama surrounding his relationship with Kathryn Dennis is more intense than ever.

Dennis, 27 and Ravenel, 56, who share 4-year-old daughter Kensie and nearly 3-year-old son Saint, slammed each other’s parenting abilities in their respective court filings obtained by Us Weekly.

Scroll through for nine allegations — including Dennis accusing Ravenel of having a personality disorder and Ravenel alleging Dennis has faked her drug tests in the past — from the exes’ custody battle:

Kathryn Wants Sole Custody

Dennis lost custody of their two children in 2016 after she failed a drug test. After completing a stint in rehab, she regained 50/50 custody of her son and daughter in 2018. She filed documents to obtain primary custody on October 25, noting that the pair’s prior agreement stated that “once the Mother has been clean for a period of one year, the parties agree to return to mediation” and “mandated that both parties undergo a physical parenting fitness evaluation.” Dennis underwent her evaluations with L. Randolph Waid, Ph.D., who was “impressed that Ms. Dennis has genuine love and care for her children” and assessed that she is “a fit and competent parent.”

“The Mother is informed and believes it is the best interests of the minor children that she be granted sole custody and/or primary custody of the minor children … with reasonable visitation granted to the Father,” the docs read.

In Ravenel’s counterclaim filed on November 6, he alleged that Dennis is seeking sole custody “for the sole and/or primary purpose” of staying on the Bravo series and “progressing her story line as the ‘rehabilitated mother who regains possession of her minor children.’” He also claimed she has “failed on numerous occasions to take the minor children” to school and their scheduled appointments.

Kathryn Claims Thomas Relies on Full-Time Nannies

Dennis alleged in the docs that Ravenel “has had to rely upon the use of full-time nannies in order to care for their very young minor children” because he is “incapable of caring for the children solely by himself.”

She also claimed that Ravenel “delegated their health care to the nannies” and alleged his “former Nanny provided inaccurate information for medical doctors that was false and caused the children to incur substantial therapy while under the custody of the Defendant.” Dennis added in the court documents that she has worked with the children’s doctors “to provide correct information concerning the children and they have now been released from therapy.”

In his counter-filing, Ravenel “demands strict proof” of Dennis’ claims regarding his nannies. He also claimed he only “has one ‘nanny’ under his employment and that he is a well-involved, competent and capable hands-on father.” The former politician also alleged that Dennis “habitually leaves the minor children with their maternal grandmother so [she] can party and socialize.”

Kathryn Accuses Thomas of Having a Personality Disorder

The Bravo star “believes that [Ravenel] has a personality disorder of some type, whether diagnosed or not, wherein he sexually assaulted at least two women, including the parties’ former Nanny,” she alleged in the docs. Dennis also accused Ravenel of having a substance abuse issue, claiming he “has drunk alcohol to excess, mixed with prescription drugs, that has caused him to be impaired during periods of time in which he had custody of the children.”

Ravenel denied suffering from or being diagnosed with a personality disorder in his filing. He also alleged that Dennis has “been diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions.”

Kathryn Alleges Thomas Apologized for Assaulting Nanny Dawn

Dennis claims that there are “text messages and/or emails in which [Ravenel] apologized to the former Nanny for his conduct as further corroboration of his bad conduct,” the docs read. “[Ravenel] informed [Dennis] that he has been afraid that he would be charged with rape and that he would not do well in going back to prison.” (Ravenel was indicted on federal cocaine distribution charges in 2007 and sentenced to 10 months in jail.)

Ravenel denied “any and all allegations of sexual assault” and denied “apologizing for sexual assault because [he] did not commit a sexual assault.”

Kathryn Accuses Thomas of Encouraging Ashley Jacobs to Verbally Assault Her

In addition to accusing Ravenel of exhibiting “periods of impulsive and uncontrollable bouts of anger” and “extreme narcissism and anger management problems,” Dennis also alleged that her ex encouraged his on-off girlfriend Ashley Jacobs to “verbally assault and attack” Dennis on Southern Charm. (On the season 5 finale of the Bravo hit, Jacobs called Dennis “just an egg donor.” The nurse later apologized to Dennis in a open letter in August.)

Dennis also claimed that Jacobs “approached [Ravenel] in California during 2017 with the intent to become his girlfriend so that she could get on the show.”

In his counterclaim, Ravenel denied encouraging Jacobs to make “defamatory comments” about Dennis and accused the producers of Southern Charm of orchestrating Jacobs’ role “as the ‘villain’” on the series.

Kathryn and Thomas Accuse Each Other of Not Paying Child Support

While Dennis believes Ravenel should pay child support to her and “pay for the private school tuition of the minor children for both preschool and thereafter,” Ravenel claimed in his filing that Dennis is “required to pay child support under the terms of the 2017 Final Order.” He also alleged that Dennis has not paid child support since June 2018.

Thomas Accuses Kathryn of Buying Fake Urine to Pass Drug Tests

Ravenel alleged in his counterclaim that Dennis “has a history of purchasing synthetic urine for purposes of passing drug tests.” Dennis, for her part, maintained that she has been clean for more than a year and “passed all tests requested of her by [Ravenel].”

Thomas Accuses Kathryn of Using Their Children for Story Lines

In addition to accusing Dennis of having an “obsession with fame, stardom and public exposure,” Ravenel alleged that she “exploits the minor children for financial gain through various ventures,” including “endorsements of children’s products on [her] Instagram and Snapchat accounts.”

Ravenel also requested that the court prevent his children from appearing on Southern Charm or “any television show that concerns and/or discusses this litigation.”

Thomas Alleges Bravo Encouraged Kathryn to File

Ravenel alleged that Dennis filed for sole custody “with the encouragement, condonation and/or express or implied permission of the producers of Southern Charm, for the purpose of providing dramatic material for the next season.”
